State Secretary at Croatian MFA Hido Biščević held regular political consultations with Iran's Deputy FM Ali Ahani

State Secretary for Political Issues at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hido Biščević had 8-9 May 2004 in Teheran regular political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Ahani

Biščević and Ahani pointed out the continuous development of stable political relations between the two countries. Opinions were exchanged about the situation in South East Europe and Middle East. Special attention was paid to present relations between Croatia and the EU, as well as the recent opening of political dialogue between Iran and the EU. Biščević and Ahani also reviewed the possibility of strengthening the economic co-operation between Croatia and Iran, judging that it can be done through the realisation of concrete projects in the field of energetics, trade, tourism, et al. Masjed Jamei confirmed the readiness of the Iranian government to set up in Zagreb the exhibition entitled “700 years of Iranian civilisation”, as a part of and for the purposes of strengthening the cultural ties between the two countries.
