Croatia, Mongolia hold political consultations

On April 14, 2025, in Ulaanbaatar, State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić held the fourth round of political consultations between Croatia and Mongolia. The Mongolian side was led by Munkhtushig Lkhanaajav, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.
 
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and explored opportunities to further enhance cooperation, particularly in the areas of politics, economy, tourism, transport, defence industry, education, culture, and forestry. They also discussed the possibility of a ministerial visit later this year. State Secretary Matušić emphasized that Croatia values Mongolia’s commitment to parliamentary democracy, as well as the shared values of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights.
 
The interlocutors also exchanged views on current foreign policy issues, including the situation in Asia and Europe, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, developments in Southeast Europe, the situation in the Middle East, and the challenges of multilateralism and the global trading system.
 
While in Ulaanbaatar, Matušić also met with Aldarjavkhlan Jukov, head of the Mongolia-Croatia interparliamentary friendship group. They exchanged views on the existing interparliamentary cooperation and bilateral relations, highlighting the mutual interest in further strengthening their collaboration.
