Croatia 15th country to submit national document on CCM ratification to UN Secretary General

An overall of 30 countries have to ratify the Convention in order for it to become internationally binding

As a country which has itself experienced the fatality of cluster munitions during the Homeland War, Croatia was among the first in the region to publicly warn about the grave danger of this inhumane weapon.

Ratifying the Convention is all the more important as there are still leftover explosive devices on the Croatian territory, which endanger human lives.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration would like to point out that by ratifying the Convention, the Republic of Croatia has once again shown dedication to preserving peace and stability in the region, as well as a wish for the further strengthening of neighbourly relations as a basis for the overall development of South Eastern Europe.
