Consultations between the competent ministries of Croatia and Austria...
On 21 October 2003, return consultations between the competent ministries of Croatia and Austria took place.
They discussed bilateral consular cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, the cooperation between the Ministries of the Interior in combating organised crime, narcotics, visas, control of state borders, migrations and asylum, and the cooperation between the Ministries of Justice concerning international legal assistance in civil and criminal matters.
Austrian side shared its experience from the process of joining the EU in the fields of police work and justice, and Croatian side informed about the adjustments made to date, particularly about the new Aliens Act and the Asylum Act.
The Head of Croatian delegation was Dr. Svjetlan Berković, Assistant MFA, and the head of Austrian delegation was Dr. Christian Berlakovits, Ambassador at the Federal MFA.
