Boosting trade, exchanging OECD accession experiences with Argentina
He met with Argentina's Foreign, International Trade and Worship Minister Diana Mondino and, he told the press afterwards, they talked about "how to sign some agreement related to the labour market."
Grlić Radman also underscored the importance of Croatia’s OECD accession.
“We share the same values in terms of democracy, free market and human rights. Both of our countries are acceding to the OECD, and we can exchange relevant experiences,” he added.
Argentina has the largest Croatian population in South America and 300,000 inhabitants of Argentina have Croatian origins, Grlić Radman said.
"Here is a big biological pool and a big potential for either coming back or immigrating, depending on the generation," he said, adding that "many doctors of Croatian descent have immigrated to Croatia."
The two ministers also talked about energy cooperation.
Argentina wants to position itself on the European market in the export of oil, lithium and gas, including the export of LNG via the Croatian terminal on Krk island, Grlić Radman said.
"For Argentina it's important to find certain ports, and Rijeka is certainly among them, so we exchanged certain experiences and opinions," he added.
Grlić Radman said he and Mondino also talked about ways of improving trade and that several agreements had been drawn up, including one on double taxation avoidance.
