Based on the Conclusion of the Crisis Headquarters of the Croatian Government of 3 April 2003 on forwarding humanitarian aid and expert staff for alleviating the consequences of war activities in Iraq, the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the coordinator of the activities of bodies of state administration, organised a meeting on 17 April 2003 with representatives of pertinent Ministries: the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Economy and the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare.

Ways of forwarding humanitarian aid to Iraq amounting to 18.8 M kunas and the possibility of establishing an expert team were discussed at the meeting. It was agreed that the number and profile of staff to participate in providing assistance to Iraq is to be determined urgently.

Pursuant to the Decision of the Government, further assistance to Iraq will be forwarded according to the need and the possibility for distribution of aid.
