As part of EU Week, winners announced and awards handed to LOGIN@EUROPE contestants
On Monday, 8 May 2006, as part of the EU Week, winners were announced and awards were handed at the Croatian Academic and Research Network CARNet to the participants of the LOGIN@EUROPE contest, with a speech held by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović
1st prize 3rd Grammar School, Split
- three PCs with a printer (European Commission’s Delegation to Croatia) awarded to the school and mobile phones (Ericsson Nikola Tesla) awarded to team members
2nd prize: 15th Grammar School, Zagreb
- PCs awarded to the school and USB pen drives (HT – Croatian Telecom) awarded to team members
3rd prize: Petrinja High School
- laptop awarded to the school and MP3 players (Siemens) awarded to team members
Special award for creative approach:
Bjelovar School of Economy and Office Machinery
- laptop (Končar INEM) awarded to the school and Olympus digital cameras awarded to team members, as well as a digital camera for the school’s computer, photography or technical workshop
Special commendation:
Župa Dubrovačka elementary school, Mlini
MFAEI organised LOGIN@EUROPE in co-operation with the Croatian Academic and Research Network CARNet. LOGIN@EUROPE 2006 is a continuation of the annual high and elementary school contests in developing web pages for young people about the EU. The aim of the contest is to stimulate the students to develop, modify and present information about the EU to the younger population using the advantages of the internet. The topic of the 2006 contest was The mobility of youth in the EU.
This year’s contest featured 62 teams, 57 of which appeared with their own designs, from 35 high and 22 elementary schools. Their work can be found at the contest’s official web pages http://logineurope.mei.hr
