On Thursday, 23 September 2010, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković met with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on the margins of the 65th meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Both Ministers confirmed the very good relations between the two states, adding that they could be further improved on all levels. In order to strengthen them, they emphasised the need to reinforce the legal framework for cooperation and expressed hope that bilateral agreements in preparation would soon be signed.

They agreed on intensifying cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries, as well as on the possibility of setting up a parliamentary friendship group.

Minister Jandroković welcomed the interest of Armenian side in commissioning Croatian companies in performing big infrastructure works, such as building roads, and in the transfer of knowhow in tourism, food-processing and pharmaceutical industries. At the meeting they discussed the possibilities for cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce of both states.

They also discussed multilateral cooperation between the two states, and Ministers exchanged views on international foreign policy, such as the situation in the Caucasus and in Southeast Europe. Minister Jandroković welcomed the process of the normalisation of relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Turkey, and added that it would positively affect the entire political and security situation in the Caucasus.
