FM Kovač expresses condolences over Brussels attacks

It was with great sadness and disbelief that I received the news of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, aimed at undermining the freedom of European citizens and bringing fear into their everyday lives. I strongly condemn the terrorist attacks and on behalf of my colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and myself, I express sincere condolences to the victims’ families, relatives and friends and wish a speedy recovery to all the injured. The attack on Brussels is an attack on the European Union. Croatia and the Croatian people express solidarity with Belgium and its citizens. Terrorist attacks are an attempt to challenge all the values of modern-day Europe, which is expected to act jointly in face of this huge challenge. We are more resolute than ever in the fight against terrorism and will show that we are united against those who wish to destroy the values of a free, democratic world.
