Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovic and Defence Minister Branko Vukelic met at a working dinner April 29th 2010 with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
The collocutors discussed NATO's New Strategic Concept, with Minister Jandrokovic expressing satisfaction over Croatia's opportunity to participate as a NATO member in the drawing up of one of NATO's fundamental documents.
They also reviewed Croatia's participation in and contribution to the NATO-led missions, especially the cooperation in Afghanistan. Minister Jandrokovic said that the building of security capacities is the fundamental factor in Afghanistan's transformation. He expressed satisfaction over the fact that Croatia is contributing to a large degree to the realization of those goals. Secretary General Rasmussen commended Croatia's cooperation in Afghanistan, as well as its constructive engagement in the region of South Eastern Europe.
This was Secretary General Rasmussen's first official visit to the Republic of Croatia since his assuming of the office.
