30 April 2010 (HINA) - Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Friday received NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen who is on a visit to Zagreb, the President's Office said in a statement.

During his stay in Croatia, which is a full NATO member state, the alliance's chief thanked Croatia for its contribution to NATO-led peace operations, notably the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.
He also hailed Croatia's decision to increase the number of its troops in Afghanistan who are training Afghan security forces.
Josipovic and Rasmussen also talked about NATO's new strategic concept which is expected to be adopted at a summit in November, the situation in the region and new challenges ahead of NATO in light of the global economic crisis.
Josipovic reaffirmed Croatia's commitment to NATO objectives and efforts regarding permanent stabilisation of Southeast Europe which he said he saw as part of NATO and the European Union, the statement said.
