Fifty-two per cent of Croatians continue to support Croatia's accession to NATO, the GfK agency said on Tuesday, adding the survey included 1,000 people polled by phone on June 14-20.

Fifty-two per cent of Croatians continue to support Croatia's accession to NATO, the GfK agency said on Tuesday, adding the survey included 1,000 people polled by phone on June 14-20.
Twenty-three per cent are against accession, while one-fourth are undecided. Women are slightly more undecided than men, they are aged 18-24 or hail from Dalmatia and Northern Croatia.
More than four-fifths of respondents voiced confidence that Croatia would be safer and stronger on the international front if it joined the alliance.
Fifty per cent said Croatia would join NATO in the next two to five years, while only three per cent said Croatia would not join, which indicates that as many as 91% feel Croatia will become a member in due time.
Only one-fourth of respondents feel investment in Croatia will not increase upon accession to NATO, while over 70% feel Croatia will have a certain benefit from membership.
