Political consultations between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Croatia and the opening of the Consulate in Makassar

On 6th June 2024 the Director-General for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Ph.D. Petar Mihatov, held political consultations with the Director-General for America and Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Umar Hadi.
The topics of the bilateral talks were the strengthening of political and economic cooperation, including the fields of trade, defense, finance, use of ports, tourism and sports; whilst the possibilities of cooperation in science, technology and innovation were also discussed. Opinions were exchanged on global and regional topics, including the security situation in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
During his stay in Indonesia, Director Mihatov officially opened the Consulate of the Republic of Croatia in Makassar, headed by Honorary Consul Mr. Munafri Arifuddin. In addition to director Mihatov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Indonesia, Nebojša Koharović, the ceremony was attended by local government leaders, including the Governor of the South Sulawesi province, the Mayor of Makassar and numerous other representatives of the political, economic and cultural life of Indonesia.
