Croatian Ambassador visited the Australian Institute of Sport and discussed the strengthening of cooperation

On the 5th February 2016, Ambassador Kušen paid a visit to the "Australian Institute of Sport" (AIS), the leading federal agency for coordination and strategic planning for the further development of professional and amateur sport in Australia. The AIS is also responsible for the implementation of sports and recreational activities, the construction of sports infrastructure, and cooperation between science and medical research as well as the applications of new technologies in sports. At the meeting with the Director of the AIS Matt Favier and his associates (Tim Kelly, Director for Performance, Science and Innovation in sport, and Dion Russell, Head of Performance Operations in professional sport), they presented a model of organization and coordination of sport in Australia, with strategic priorities and targeted results that Australian athletes plan to achieve at key international events in the coming years. The meeting was also an exchange of experiences for the organization and popularization of sport in society. It opened the space for cooperation between Croatia and Australia in sports, but especially in the field of scientific research and of medicine in sport.
