Young Croatian physicists won bronze medals at the 50th International Physics Olympiad in Tel Aviv
Croatia participates at the 50th International Physics Olympiad, which takes place in Tel Aviv from 7 to 15 July 2019. The Croatian team consists of five secondary school pupils (3rd and 4th grades): Elizaveta Chernova from Rijeka, Bernard Faulend from Zagreb, Luka Meštrovic from Križevci, Marko Srpak and Janko Vrcek from Varaždin, and two leaders: Professor Krešo Zadro, Ph.D. (Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb) and Nikolina Novosel, Ph.D. (Institute of Physics).
In the strong competition of young physicists from 80 countries, Croatian pupils showed excellent knowledge. Bernard Faulend and Janko Vrcek won bronze medals, while Elizaveta Chernov was awarded a special prize.
During the stay in Israel, the leaders of Croatian team Professor Krešo Zadro, PH.D., and Nikolina Novosel, Ph.D., visited the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Tel Aviv and met Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac.
