Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Krsticevic in a working visit to Israel

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Defence Minister Damir Krsticevic with a delegation paid a working visit to the State of Israel on 20 and 21 March 2017. In the year 2017, the Republic of Croatia and the State of Israel mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. Defence Minister Krsticevic had a meeting with the Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman. They discussed further strengthening of the countries’ bilateral relations and current security challenges. Reconfirming the high level of friendly relations between the two countries, the mutual interest in enhancing the relations in particular in the security and defence cooperation fields has been confirmed. Two ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the defence field; a basis and framework for the countries’ defence cooperation, in particular in the fields of military-technical cooperation, military education, trainings, exercises, cyber capabilities, as well as equipment and modernisation, military-economic and technical-scientific activities. Defence Minister Krsticevic visited Yad Vashem - The World Holocaust Remembrance Center. He toured the Holocaust History Museum, laid a wreath in the Hall of Remembrance, and visited the Children’s Memorial. He also viewed the Oscar statue awarded to Croatian film producer and Holocaust survivor Branko Lustig for the Schindler"s List. Minister signed the Yad Vashem Guest Book. In a short tour of the Jerusalem Old Town, in the Holy Sepulchre Church Minister Krsticevic met Franciscan from Croatia.
