Croatia"s Statehood Day was celebrated at the Dan Hotel Tel Aviv on 29 June, with about 200 guests from the diplomatic corps – Ambassadors in great number, as well as from the Israeli administration and public life: religious, business, academic, culture and media, and with many Israeli citizens of Croatian origin and Croatian citizens living in the State of Israel.
The Israeli government was represented by Minister of Environment Avi Gabbay (co-founder of Kulanu party), who made a short speech, along with Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the State of Israel, Pjer šimunovic.

The Minister also expressed his wish that the Croatian-Israeli co-operation will be further strengthened through diverse co-operation channels. In his address to the audience, Croatian Ambassador Pjer šimunovic reminded of Croatia"s path to independence and its many successes, expressing a wish for further strengthening of Croatian-Israeli relations, based on mutual interests and values.

The event was entirely sponsored by the Honorary Consuls of Croatia in Israel – Samuel Ivan Schlesinger, Yossi Landesman, Ran Fuchs, Aaron Frenkel, and the Teva company, Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club, the companies Elbit Systems and Ashdod Bonded, along with the donations of Arena turist Pula.
