Assistant Minister and Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs,Vice Skracic, held on 22 July 2019 political consultations with the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Alon Ushpiz. Assistant Minister Skracic was accompanied by Ambassador Vesela Mrden Korac and the diplomats of the Embassy.
The two sides confirmed their readiness to further develop friendly and strategic relations and discussed bilateral cooperation in various areas, including cooperation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and exchanged opinions and views on the situation in the Middle East and in the Croatian neighborhood, as well as on the priorities of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2020.
As part of the visit, Assistant Minister Skracic also visited Yad Vashem - the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, and met with the Director for Cooperation with Governments and External Affairs, Yossi Gevir and the Director for Europe, Richelle Budd Caplan. They discussed ways of furthering Croatia"s co-operation with Yad Vashem within the International Holocaust Rememberance Alliance, as well as bilaterally, including in the field of Holocaust education.
