Business opportunities in Norway presented to Croatian exporters
On February 11th 2016, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in the Kingdom of Norway, the Association of Croatian Exporters organized a presentation on "Business conditions and business opportunities for Croatian exporters to Norway” in the Embassy’s offices in Oslo. The opening speech at the presentation was held by HE Versta Astrid, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Croatia, while the main speaker and the initiator of the meeting was Mr. Hrvoje Marusic, the Croatian Ambassador in Oslo. Ambassador Marusic invited the representatives of Dalekovod Plc. and Cronomar Ltd., renowned Croatian companies, to share their experiences in doing business on the Norwegian market. The presentation was attended by Croatian exporters and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affiars of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Chamber of Economy, the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Ambassador Marusic put forth relevant indicators related to trade between Croatian exporters and the Kingdom of Norway, where Croatia has had a surplus in exports of goods and services. The emphasis of the presentation was placed on the possibilities for the export of Croatian goods and services by specific sectors, while Croatian businesspeople were provided with information on the business environment in the Kingdom of Norway, the local legal framework for the establishment of companies or employment. Representatives of the Croatian Embassy in Oslo stressed that they stand at the service of Croatian companies for information, the establishment of connections with potential Norwegian partners, as well as for the facilitation of business meetings, which can be held in the offices of the Croatian Embassy in Oslo. Mr. Alen Premuzak, CEO of Croatian company Dalekovod Plc., briefed the meeting on his company’s enviable business results on the Norwegian market, which had been achieved via a subsidiary established in Norway in 2007. The company does business in the field of construction and renovation of power grids in challenging physical environments, fulfilling specific industry requirements and standards. Ms. Ana Zajc, senior project consultant for the Cronomar company, presented the company"s results, obtained through Norwegian capital investments on the Croatian market. The company was founded in 2009 with the aim of connecting the Croatian and Norwegian businesspeople in the sector of maritime activities. Today, the company carries out its activities independently and manages an innovation hub within the iNavis center. The presentation was concluded with remarks by Ambassador Marusic, who told Croatian exporters that their products, services, knowledge and technology made them competitive enough to compete on the Norwegian market and meet its high demands. The prerequisites to success are meticulous preparatory work, as well as investments in project management and quality monitoring, Ambassador Marusic told the meeting, which will allow Croatian companies to gain the trust of their Norwegian partners and create a positive business environment for the expansion of Croatian business activities in the country.
