CROATIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2008 - OPENING

On 17 April 2008, at the Cinema Nouveau Brooklyn in Pretoria, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Mr Ivan Picukaric, opened the „Croatian Film Festival 2008“. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of invitees: ambassadors and high commissioners, diplomats, prominent South African citizens (representatives of business, academic community and journalists) as well as Croatian fellow countrymen.

On 17 April 2008, at the Cinema Nouveau Brooklyn in Pretoria, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Mr Ivan Picukaric, opened the „Croatian Film Festival 2008“. The opening ceremony was attended by a number of invitees: ambassadors and high commissioners, diplomats, prominent South African citizens (representatives of business, academic community and journalists) as well as Croatian fellow countrymen. After the cocktail and introductory speech of Ambassador Picukaric, the Croatian movie “What is a Man without a Moustache?”, directed by Hrvoje Hribar, was screened. The Programme of the “Croatian Film Festival 2008” consists of seven movies: “Sleep Sweet, My Darling” directed by Hrvoje Hitrec; “Here” directed by Zrinko Ogresta; “What is a Man Wtihout a Moustache?” directed by Hrvoje Hribar; “Border post” directed by Rajko Grlic; “The Horseman” directed by Branko Ivanda; “Tressette” directed by Dražen Žarkovic and “Armin” directed by Ognjen Svilicic. The movies will be screened in Cinema Nouveau Brooklyn in Pretoria from 18 to 20 April 2008, and in Cinema Nouveau Rosebank in Johannesburg from 25 to 28 April 2008. Earlier, the Embassy of Croatia organised a screening of the movies at one of the most recognised South African Universities, the University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg.
