Cardinal Bozanic gave holy confirmation to young Croatian South African Catholics Chairman of the Croatian Conference of Bishops and Vice-Chairman of the European Conference of Bishops, Archbishop of Zagreb Josip Cardinal Bozanic gave on Sunday, 3rd December 2006, the sacrament of holy confirmation to the young Catholics of Croatian origin at the St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Houghton, Johannesburg. That was done during the holy mass he led, celebrating it together with Fr. Ivica Strcic, head of the St. Jerome's Croatian Catholic Centre in Houghton, Johannesburg, and Fr. Drago Vujevic, Croatian missionary in South Africa. The youth choir from Fr. Drago's mission sung during the mass. Afterwards, the Cardinal had a lunch with the newly confirmed, their parents and guests, and members of Croatian community in South Africa. Day later, on 4th December, Cardinal Bozanic visited the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria, and the Apostolic Nunciature in Pretoria, where he had a meeting with Msgr. James Patrick Green, Apostolic Nuncio in South Africa. He was then a guest of honour at the luncheon given by Croatian Ambassador in South Africa HE Mr Ivan Picukaric in his official residence.
