Ambassador Prelog visited the Croatian Catholic Church of St. Jerome in Johannesburg

Ambassador Dr. Nenad Prelog visited on Sunday, October 19, 2014, the Croatian Catholic Church of St. Jerome in South Africa and met the Croatian community after the Sunday Mass in Johannesburg. Croatian Catholic Church of St. Jerome in South Africa, under the direction of Father Ivica Strcic, is the only Croatian Church on the African continent and the central point of gathering of the Croatian community in South Africa. Father Ivica Strcic welcomed the new Croatian Ambassador and expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria for the support and successful cooperation. Ambassador Prelog stressed the importance of strong connection between Croatian emigrants and their homeland and expressed confidence in further successful cooperation of the Croatian Catholic Church of St. Jerome in Johannesburg and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Pretoria. As a symbolic personal gift upon arrival in South Africa, Ambassador Prelog handed the Croatian Catholic Church of St. Jerome in South Africa the oil on canvas painting of St. Jerome, from the Croatian artist Zlatko Milakovic.
