Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandrokovic launched October 24th 2009 with his official visit to the Sultanate of Oman a mini-tour of the Gulf states, accompanied beside H.E. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Dražen Margeta, by representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Chamber of Economy, Export and Investment Promotion Agency and the delegation of Croatian businessmen who participated in the Croatia-Oman Economic Forum.

Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Dražen Margeta, by representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Chamber of Economy, Export and Investment Promotion Agency and the delegation of Croatian businessmen who participated in the Croatia-Oman Economic Forum. The Croatian - Omani Business Forum was attended by H.E. Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Dražen Margeta.
After attending the meeting between Croatian and Omani businessmen, he separately met with Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Commerce and Industry Minister Maqbool bin Ali bin Sultan, and Oil and Gas Minister Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhi.
Minister Jandrokovic pointed out that Croatia and Oman share many interests, especially in the field of construction and infrastructure, construction of energy facilities, energy distribution, shipbuilding, timber industry, tourism and environmental protection. He also emphasized Croatia's favourable geographical position, as well as the numerous possibilities of connecting the Omani economy not only with Croatia, but thank to a well-developed transport infrastructure, with the EU market as well. The collocutors also discussed the models of enhancing the business, especially through signing new bilateral economic agreements. The hosts inquired about the possibilities of investing in Croatia, namely in tourist industry, and the construction of transport and energy infrastructure. The interest in our country has grown considerably since Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his associates visited the Adriatic.
The vast investment potential of Oman is also exemplified by the fact that in the next five-year period that Gulf state intends to invest $50 billion in various areas of economy.
