Minister of Finance of the Republic of Croatia H. E. Mr. Ivan šuker paid his first official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt on March 8th 2007. Mr. šuker also came in capacity of the President of the Supervisory Board of Croatian oil company INA. During his visit Minister šuker called on Finance Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt H. E. Dr. Youssef Boutros Ghali. The meeting was conducted in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

The two ministers shared their views and experiences of their portfolios. Minister šuker informed his counterpart of Croatian monetary and fiscal system, single treasury account, tax system and the process of privatization. Mr. šuker also requested for speedy ratification of the Avoiding of double taxation agreement which - once ratified – should create broader space and improved performances for the companies that are conducting businesses between the two countries. Minister Ghali pledged that as a member of the Parliament he would do his level best to speed up the process of ratification.
