Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Egypt Mr. Dražen Margeta met at the Headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa with the Head of the Legal Council of the African Union Mr. Ben Kioko. At that occasion Ambassador Margeta handed to Mr. Kioko the Letter of Appointment whereby the President of the Republic of Croatia H.E. Stjepan Mesic appointed him the Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the African Union.

By this act ambassador Margeta assumed the duty of the Representative of the Republic of Croatia to the African Union seated in Cairo, Egypt. Mr. Kioko and Amb. Margeta held open and friendly discussion identifying possible areas of cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the African Union. Mr. Kioko expressed satisfaction by the fact the Republic of Croatia, besides its priorities such as accession to the European Union, is opening for the cooperation with the African countries
