VRH Dublin participates in the Francophonie Film Festival for the second time with the film Pelican
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Dublin is an active member of the Francophonie Festival in Dublin this year, once again participating in the Film Festival program with the film Pelican, directed by Filip Heraković.
In the film Pelican, Josip (played by Edi Ćelić) is a football player who is recovering from a knee injury in a spa that is seriously jeopardizing his career. Spending time working out with a self-absorbed physiotherapist and receiving visits from his now almost ex-girlfriend and former best friend, it becomes clear to him that he must rediscover who he is. When he accidentally stumbles upon a sales conference at the spa and is mistaken for someone else, Josip embraces his new identity and explores life from a different perspective in search of his true identity. But when he steps out of his own mind, the boundaries begin to blur.
Pelikan is the debut film of young director Filip Heraković from 2022, and will be shown in Ireland for the first time.
The film screening is on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 8 p.m. at the Alliance Française Dublin. Admission is free, with prior registration.
