On Wednesday, July 5, 2023, the Croatian film A Blue Flower, directed by Zrinko Ogresta, was screened at the Cervantes Institute in Dublin, as part of the wider Mediterranean July project, whose aim is the cultural promotion of the Union for the Mediterranean countries.

The screening of the film was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ireland in cooperation with the Embassy of Spain in Ireland, which is also the main organizer of the project, and the Croatian Audiovisual Center. In addition to promoting the culture of the countries of the Union for the Mediterranean, the overall Mediterranean July project also aims to mark the beginning of the Spanish presidency of the EU.

Before the screening, Ambassador Davor Vidiš addressed the public with a short speech in which he thanked the Embassy of Spain for their cooperation and pointed out that on July 1, 2023, the day Spain took over the EU presidency, the Republic of Croatia marked its 10th anniversary of membership in the EU. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Mediterranean part of Croatia's identity is extremely important, especially considering the length of the coast and its beauty, which makes Croatia one of the most desirable tourist destinations. He pointed out that the cultural promotion of the Mediterranean raises awareness of the challenges faced by the countries of this region, especially emphasizing the importance of preserving the Mediterranean due to the impact of climate change.

He also introduced the film A Blue Flower, which Croatia presented at the Mediterranean July, starring Vanja Čirić, Anja Šovagović Despot, and Tea Harčević. "A film that talks in a simple way about a woman, a mother, and a daughter, and their complex relationships. A film that awakens emotional associations and invites us to look at ourselves."

After its world premiere at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival, where the audience voted it the third-best film of the festival, A Blue Flower was screened at several European festivals. At the 68th Pula Film Festival, he was awarded the Great Golden Arena for the best film, the director Ogresta the Golden Arena for the best director, while Vanja Ćirić was awarded the Golden Arena for the best female lead.
