During the conference European Social Services Croatia´s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Social Welfare Dr Andrija Hebrang met Irish Minister for Health and Children Michéal Martin TD in Dublin on Wednesday to discuss health service in Croatia and Ireland.
The main topic of the talks was Ireland´s experience in meeting European health care standards as well as the reform of the Irish health system over the past several years. Martin said that based on its experience so far the Irish government had decided to increase centralisation in decision-making and management in the health system.
Hebrang thanked Martin for the support which Ireland as EU chair extended Croatia in its bid to obtain the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union, which the European Council will decide about on Friday.
The Croatian minister invited his Irish counterpart to visit Croatia, which Martin accepted.
On Thursday Hebrang will meet the leaders of Enterprise Ireland and IDA, agencies promoting Irish investments abroad, stimulating foreign investments, and providing services for small companies operating outside Ireland.
