VISA ISSUING PROCEDURE

Applying at the visa centre does not require an appointment. Applying at the Embassy requires an appointment except for the extremely urgent cases involving family members of the EU / EEA citizens and urgent humanitarian cases.
 
Visa applications can be submitted only by citizens of Kazakhstan and persons with an approved residence in the territory of Kazakhstan.
 
The visa application is submitted in person. Exceptionally, if there are justifiable reasons and with the prior agreement of the Embassy, ??the alien does not have to submit the application in person, but must come to the Embassy in person to collect the visa.
 
OBLIGATORY DOCUMENTATION WITH ALL THE REQUESTS
Visa application form - filled in Latin script, in capital letters, fully completed and signed by hand (IMPORTANT: the application must be signed in two places).

a valid travel document (validity period must be at least 3 months longer than the validity period of the visa, must be issued in the last 10 years and contain at least 2 blank pages for entering the visa);
colour photo (35x45 mm);
proof of payment of the fee;
proof of valid travel health insurance - to cover costs that could be incurred during the stay in Croatia, due to:
  • emergency medical care and / or emergency hospital treatment, or
  • return to the country of residence for health reasons or
  • transport in the event of death.
The minimum sum insured must be in the equivalent to EUR 30,000.
 
The applicant for a visa for one or two entries shall enclose insurance policy of appropriate travel health insurance that covers the entire period of stay in Croatia.
The applicant for a multiple-entry visa shell enclose an appropriate travel health insurance policy covering the period of the first planned stay in Croatia.
Travel health insurance is taken with an insurance company at the country of residence. If this is not possible, travel health insurance from another country should be sought.
A private or legal person from Croatia, who invites the applicant, may conclude a travel health insurance contract with an insurance company from Croatia.
Documentation proving:
• purpose of stay,
• secured accommodation,
• provided funds for subsistence during the stay in Croatia, and for return to the country of residence,
• means of travel and intention to return to the country of residence, or the possibility of entering a third country.
 
If the consular officer deems it necessary, he/she may request additional documentation to support the request.
 
DOCUMENTATION PROVING THE PURPOSE OF THE STAY - TOURIST VISIT
The purpose of the stay and accommodation is proved by:
hotel, hostel, camp… - hotel or other reservation of accommodation, confirmation of paid tourist arrangement (voucher), organized tourist trip, etc.
private accommodation - reservation of accommodation with a private landlord, with a copy of the landlord’s licence to rent;
use of (own) real estate - proof of ownership of real estate (ownership certificate / land registry excerpt), real estate lease agreement; invitation / statement of a foreign owner;
nautical tourism - confirmation of reservation / paid berth in Croatia, extract from the register of boats, confirmation of paid charter;
one-day trips to Croatia (from Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina) - confirmation of the travel agency on the paid trip; certificate and car rental (Rent a Car), etc.
 
BUSINESS VISIT

The letter of guarantee is filled in by the guarantor - a legal entity from Croatia.
Along with the letter of guarantee, the guarantor encloses proof of liquidity (“bon 1 or bon 2” or a certificate from the commercial court that no liquidation proceedings have been initiated, etc.). The letter of guarantee must be certified by the official stamp and signature of the person authorized to represent. The embassy / consulate retains the original letter of guarantee.
The applicant is given a copy of the letter of guarantee so that he can, at the request of the body responsible for state border control, present proof of the purpose of his stay in Croatia.
 
PRIVATE VISIT (visit to family, friends)
The original letter of guarantee of the private person;
• For spouses, children and parents of Croatian citizens: a marriage certificate or birth certificate.
 
OFFICIAL VISIT
A foreigner who comes to Croatia at the invitation of a Croatian state body under the auspices of the Croatian Parliament, the President of the Republic of Croatia or the Government of the Republic of Croatia, encloses an invitation letter from the Croatian state body, i.e. the organizer of the international conference or event.
The invitation letter must state:
• data on the foreigner: name and surname, date and place of birth, citizenship, number of the travel document, place of issue and validity of the travel document;
• purpose of the visit, period in which the foreigner will stay in Croatia and information on accommodation;
• information on who bears the costs of the alien's stay in Croatia, name and surname, position, address and telephone number of the contact person, from whom relevant information about the alien can be obtained.

CULTURE
A letter of guarantee from the organizer of the cultural event shall be attached. If the inviting entity is a Croatian state body or it is an international gathering of public interest or event is held under the auspices of the Croatian Parliament, the President of the Republic of Croatia or the Government of the Republic of Croatia, a letter of invitation shall be attached.
 

SPORT
Participants in the international competition shall enclose an invitation letter from the organizers from Croatia; in other cases, a letter of guarantee from a sports club or association from Croatia shall be attached.



HEALTH REASONS
Obligatory documents are: medical findings (if applicable), an official document of the health institution confirming the person's admission and health care in that institution, proof of payment for treatment or proof of sufficient funds to pay for treatment.

OTHER DOCUMENTATION - ACCOMMODATION
• letter of guarantee or invitation;
• hotel reservation or confirmation of booking accommodation with a private landlord;
• proof of lease or ownership of real estate in Croatia;
• proof of ownership or rental of a boat, yacht, or confirmation of paid / reserved charter, etc.

SUFFICIENT FUNDS DURING A STAY IN CROATIA
• cash;
• non-cash means of payment (traveller’s checks, credit cards, etc.);
• bank statement for the last 3 months, appropriate certificate of permanent income of the applicant or the person who is legally obliged to support him/her;
• a certified statement by which the third legal or natural person-sponsor undertakes to bear the costs, with appropriate proof of solvency.

MEANS OF TRAVEL AND INTENTION TO RETURN TO THE COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE
• return ticket reservation;
• traffic and driver's license (if traveling by car);
• certificate of employment (employment contract), education;
• proof of ownership of real estate;
• proof of family ties in Kazakhstan, etc.

VISA FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRANSIT
• visa application;
• a valid travel document;
• colour photograph (35x45 mm);
• proof of means of travel;
• proof of means of subsistence;
• travel health insurance;
• documentation proving the possibility of entering the country of final destination (e.g. visa).

VISA FEE is charged at the time of application.
The visa fee is non-refundable if the visa application is denied.

Persons exempt from paying the fee:
• immediate family members of a Croatian citizen (spouse and minor children);
• children up to the age of twelve;
• holders of diplomatic and official passports traveling officially;
• pupils, students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who come for the purpose of schooling, study and professional training;
• representatives of non-profit organizations under the age of 25 to participate in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations
• family members of nationals of Member States of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein).
