Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman paid a working visit to the Czech Republic on Monday and Tuesday, July 7 and 8, 2025. During his visit, he met with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Security of the Czech Senate, Pavel Fischer. The officials confirmed the excellent and friendly relations between Croatia and the Czech Republic and emphasized the importance of regular high-level dialogue.

Ministers Grlić Radman and Lipavský exchanged views on strengthening cooperation within the European Union and NATO, developing the defence industry, and achieving energy independence - including the LNG terminal on the island of Krk - as well as on current geopolitical developments in Central and Southeast Europe in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Grlić Radman expressed special thanks to his Czech counterparts for their continued support of Croatia's membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He also welcomed the establishment of a direct air route between Zagreb and Prague, which will contribute to the traditionally strong interest of Czech tourists in vacationing in Croatia.

During his stay in Prague, the minister met with members of the Croatian community, specifically representatives of the Moravian Croats, and expressed gratitude for their dedicated efforts in preserving Croatian identity, language, and culture, as well as for promoting the reputation of Croatia in the Czech Republic.

This visit further strengthened the partnership between Croatia and the Czech Republic and reaffirmed their joint commitment to the continued development of bilateral cooperation, which holds particular value within the framework of the EU and NATO.
