At the 13th session of the Permanent Mixed Commission for the Implementation of the Agreement on Border Traffic and Co-operation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia, held 22 April in Kopar, three new tourist zones were established: Po Sutli i Žumberku, Sutla – Dolina izvora zdravlja, and Haloze – Zagorje.
Among the mentioned border crossings are the first joint locations crossings on the territory of one country, with policemen and customs officers from both countries working there. These are Slum – Rakitovec and Draše – Nova Vas ob Sotli, located on the Slovenian territory. Two such crossings are near completion on the Croatian side: Sv. Martin na Muri – Hotiza and Kašt – Radovica, that will open early-May 2004.
Permanent Mixed Commission reviewed the figures regarding the issued border passes. The crossing of the border is possible for citizens of all countries with the one-time crossing permit (25 kunas) that can be bought at the border crossing. Only passenger crossing with luggage is possible at these crossings, not import or exports of goods.
The Permanent Mixed Commission reached a decision on establishing the 74th border crossing (crossing the border outside of border crossings with a special permission along with the crossing permit) for persons living at the following addresses: Cvetinska Jazbina 137 on the Croatian side, and Gradišće 32, 33 and Velika Varnica 1 on the Slovenian side.
