The Republic of Croatia, with its delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Ivan Šimonović, is acting as an observer at the 13th Non-Aligned Movement Summit that began today, 24 February 2003, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with heads of states and governments of the Non-Aligned countries taking part.

Preparatory meetings of the delegations of 111 Non-Aligned countries began on an expert and ministerial level 20 February. These meetings saw the harmonisation of the texts of the Final Declaration and special reports on Iraq and Palestine. The Summit meeting ends 25 February 2003.

During the last two days, the Croatian delegation met with the Malaysian and Vietnamese delegation, and is having bilateral meetings with Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Non-Aligned countries in Kuala Lumpur today and tomorrow.
