The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the official denial

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the official denial of the allegation from an article published in Slobodna Dalmacija on 11 August 2003.

In the column Comments and Views, a text under the heading Unilateral Spirit of Partisans was published by Mr. Josip Jović with the following citation: “It is absurd, for example that Mrs. Tatjana Kralj Draganić, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of the staff, is currently appointed the Ambassador to Greece, although she is a spouse of one of the most distinguished members of the Labrador terrorist organisation who now lives in Canada”.

We hereby deny that the Mrs Kralj Draganić’s spouse is “one of the most distinguished members of the Labrador terrorist organisation”. Last year, Mr. Ivica Đikić, Feral Tribune’s journalist, also issued the same, false information on the identity of Mrs Kralj Draganić’s spouse, as a member of the terrorist organisation. The spouse of Mrs. Kralj Draganić is Mr. Perica Draganić, and not Mr. Milan Draganić, for whom Feral Tribune and Slobodna Dalmacija write to be the member of the terrorist organisation. Last year, Mrs. Kralj Draganić denied this information published by Feral Tribune and raised a private lawsuit against Mr. Ivica Đikić who authored the text.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested official confirmation of the authenticity of allegations published in Feral Tribune. An extensive verification showed that Mr. Perica Draganić, spouse of Mrs. Kralj Draganić, is not a member of the Labrador terrorist organisation and is not connected in any way with any terrorist organisation, nor with Mr. Milan Draganić.

Almost a year later, Slobodna Dalmacija continues to publish unchecked information on the identity of the Foreign Ministry Secretary whereby it inflicts a serious damage to the reputation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry’s officials, and notably to the international reputation of the Republic of Croatia, by directly linking an information of Ambassadorial mandate with a terrorist organisation.
