the first joint meeting was held at the Sobranje of the Republic of Macedonia by the Group of Representatives for the Cooperation with the Croatian Parliament...

The meeting, the first of its kind ever to be held in the Macedonian Parliament, was called and chaired by the president of the Group of Representatives Blagodarna Dulić, and attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Macedonia Ivan Kujundžić, representatives Vasko Šotarov and Panče Damevski, and the Director of the First Bilateral Directorate at the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hilda Kolevska.

Numerous issues related to the status and activities of the Croatian minority in Macedonia were discussed. The implementation of the Agreement on the Protection of the Croatian Minority in the Republic of Macedonia and the Macedonian minority in the Republic of Croatia was analysed in particular. The conclusion was reached that the Croatian authorities, both at the state and the local level, strongly support the Macedonian minority in the Republic of Croatia, for which the Macedonian side expressed particular gratitude. It was also agreed that the Croatian minority had no difficulties in exercising their rights in the Republic of Macedonia, and its members were actively involved in all aspects of social and public life as loyal citizens of their second homeland.

The president of the Group of Representatives Dulić and the representatives who attended the meeting pointed out that they would attempt, to the extent of their authority, to ensure adequate funds for projects presented by the Croatian community in the budget for the following year, and invited to a continued and open cooperation in the future.

The meeting, which was held on the eve of the upcoming official visit of the President of the Sobranje Trajko Veljanoski to the Republic of Croatia, was described as an important step in strengthening the cooperation with the Croatian minority in Macedonia.
