The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in London and the Croatian Tourist Office organized a presentation entitled “Split Ancient and Modern: A Captivating City”

Croatian Ambassador Dr. Ivica Tomić welcomed the guests attending the presentation which combined the offer of the City of Split in culture as well as tourism. On the occasion, the Croatian Embassy displayed copies of the 18th century engravings by Scottish architect Robert Adam, depicting the Diocletian’s Palace. A marble sculpture of Socrates which, according to records, originates from the Diocletian’s Palace was also exhibited as an item of special interest.
The tourism offer of the City of Split with special emphasis on cultural heritage and the recent archaeological research at the Diocletian’s Palace were presented to the guests.
The presentation was also attended by about 130 guests and experts in the field of archaeology, conservation and restoration as well as art historians and curators from British institutes and museums.
