State Secretary Željko Kuprešak received Undersecretary of State for External Economic Relations at Finnish MFA Pekka Huhtaniemi

State Secretary for European Integration Željko Kuprešak received on 7 April 2008 the Undersecretary of State for External Economic Relations at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pekka Huhtaniemi

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the very good bilateral relations, devoid of outstanding issues. The collocutors agreed that in 2007 significant progress was made in developing the bilateral relations and expressed a mutual willingness to develop economic, cultural, and scientific co-operation. As regards the economic relations, it was pointed out that they have shown significant positive markings in recent years.

The Croatian side expressed gratitude for Finland’s support for Croatia’s EU accession, especially during the Finnish presidency.

The meeting also reviewed the development of the events in South Easter Europe and saw the exchange of opinions on the current state of affairs.

A part of the meeting also concerned the two countries’ roles within the multilateral framework. The Croatian side presented Croatia’s activities within the OSCE, while the Finnish side presented its presidency’s priorities.
