State Secretary Željko Kuprešak participated in Burgenland Europa Forum’s Summer Academy and was present at EUROPAN award ceremony

State Secretary for European Integration Željko Kuprešak participated 18 June 2008 in the Summer Academy of Burgenland’s Europa Forum and was present at the EUROPAN award ceremony

EUROPAN was awarded to former Vice-Chancellor and Austrian Foreign Minister Alois Mock for his life-work and to Hungarian Honorary Consul to Burgenland Michael Leier for promoting economic relations in the Central and Eastern Europe. State Secretary Kuprešak held an occasional speech, pointing out that this is yet another confirmation of the good Croatian-Austrian relations and friendship. He thanked Mr. Mock for strongly supporting Croatia’s independence, as well as now its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

Speaking about Croatia’s main foreign-policy goal – joining the EU, State Secretary Kuprešak said that Croatia is going through an intense period of reforms in numerous areas, in order to prepare as best as possible for full EU membership.

Also present at the ward ceremony was the State Secretary at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hans Winkler.
