State Secretary at the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent today, 30 march 2004, a letter to Miroslav Rožić, President of the Club of Deputies of the Croatian Party of Rights, regarding the recent communication between the party and the MFA, and the media reaction that ensued
State Secretary Biščević’s letter further reads: “The whole ‘case’ which you have fabricated is therefore not about a ‘bizarre argument”, but about an undeniable fact that the control of the executive power in foreign policy falls within the scope of the Croatian Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, and not the individual parties or clubs of deputies,” as stated by the Croatian Government.
At the end of the letter, State Secretary Biščević expresses the ministry’s openness to dialogue with political parties and the public regarding the foreign policy: “In view of what has been said, insisting on this issue and the way it was presented to the Croatian public leaves doubts about the real intentions. To conclude this, I would like to repeat once again that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is open to dialogue about the foreign policy issues with representatives of the political parties or clubs of deputies".
