State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić met 12 October 2006 in Munich, the Federal Republic of Germany, with the Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and State Minister, Eberhard Sinner
State Secretary Pejčinović Burić informed State Minister Sinner in detail about the current events in the process of Croatia’s EU accession and the progress of the screening process, which is nearing its end. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić presented Croatia’s structure for the full EU membership negotiations. She pointed out that Croatia is determined to follow through with all of the necessary reforms for the fulfilment of the assumed obligations and membership criteria in order to become the 28th EU member by the end of the decade. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić also stressed that Croatia expects that the parallel process of reorganising the institutional framework of the EU to be completed by end-2008.
State Minister Sinner communicated support for Croatia in its process of acceding to the Euro-Atlantic integration, pointing out that the co-operation within the Permanent Croatian-Bavarian Commission is complementary to EU accession.
The day before, on Wednesday 11 October, State Secretary Pejčinović Burić held a lecture entitled Croatia on Its Way to the European Union” at the Parliament of the Free State of Bavaria.
