State Secretary Pejčinović-Burić held speech at multimedia promotion of book Roland’s European Paths

State Secretary Pejčinović-Burić commended the project as a support to the overall efforts to bring the European values closer the Croatian citizens and bring the Republic of Croatia closer to the citizens of the EU. She also pointed out that Dubrovnik’s Orlando, built in 1419, only represents one of the numerous ties that bear witness to Croatia’s being a part of the European circle, and that Croatia is not bound to Europe by the political and economic interests only, but by a joint cultural identity as well.

State Secretary Pejčinović-Burić stressed Croatia’s dedication to preserving the cultural diversity, proven by the fact that on 12 May 2006, the Croatian Parliament adopted the Law on Confirming the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, making Croatia the fourth country in the world and the first in Europe to adopt this document.

State Secretary Pejčinović-Burić also expressed her satisfaction with the fact that the MFAEI had the opportunity to support a project that reflects the joint European values and proves that nongovernmental organisations are and important bond between and a partner to state institutions in presenting the Croatian cultural diversity and its European identity.
