State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić 27 March 2019 in Vienna attended the regular political consultations with Austria’s Secretary General for Foreign Affairs Johannes Peterlik.

The two officials underlined the importance of cooperation among the Central European countries, as they shared the same positions on a number of matters regarding the work of the Council of the EU. They exchanged views on migrations and Southeast Europe, agreeing the SEE countries should continue approaching the EU and meeting the criteria. Metelko-Zgombić informed Peterlik about the preparations for Croatia’s upcoming Council of the EU presidency.

Metelko-Zgombić also met with Chancellery Minister for the EU, Art, Culture and Media Gernot Blümel, who shared Austria’s recent experiences regarding the Council of the EU presidency, notably the General Affairs Council. The Croatian state secretary also held talks with Secretary General at the Federal Ministry of Defence Wolfgang Baumann.
