State Secretary for European Affairs Andreja Metelko-Zgombić 5 March 2019 in Copenhagen attended bilateral consultations with the State Secretary for Foreign Policy at Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jonas Bering Liisberg.

The two officials exchanged views on topical EU matters, notably Brexit, the multiannual financial framework, migration and the upcoming European Parliament elections, as well as expectations regarding the new composition of EU institutions and discussions on the future of the EU.

Metelko-Zgombić informed her counterpart about Croatia’s preparations for the Council of the EU presidency and its priorities, with an emphasis on enlargement and the situation in Croatia’s neighbourhood, underlining the importance of maintaining the open door policy and upholding the European perspective of Southeast European countries. She also talked about the preparations for Croatia’s joining the Schengen Area and the eurozone.
