State Secretary for Political Affairs Zdravka Bušić 6 march 2019 received on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Aly Omar Sirry.
Bušić underlined Egypt’s role and importance in Africa and the Middle East, congratulating Egypt on taking over the presidency of the African Union and successfully hosting the first meeting of the heads of state and government of the EU and the Arab League, held late-February 2019, attended by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Both officials underscored the good and friendly relations between Croatia and Egypt based on mutual understanding and successful cooperation. They voiced a wish for further strengthening of political, cultural and multilateral cooperation, highlighting the intensified economic cooperation, which is expected to continue in the near future.
