State Secretary Matušić meets with secretary-general of Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

State Secretary for Political Affairs Frano Matušić on Tuesday held political consultations with the Secretary-General of Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chakib Rachid Kaid.

The two officials discussed bilateral political and economic relations, contractual regulations, multilateral cooperation, regional relations, as well as global topics such as migration and the situation in North Africa and Sahel. They underscored concrete possibilities of advancing economic cooperation between Croatia and Algeria, notably in the fields of energy, shipbuilding, maritime culture, construction of fishing ports and marinas, and hotel industry.

As Mediterranean countries, Croatia and Algeria share the same interests and challenges, and can open up new areas of cooperation through the exchange of experiences. In order to additionally advance bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman is due to visit Algeria together with a business delegation by year’s end.
