State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejcinovic-Buric held on Tuesday, 22 May 2007, in the city hall of Umag a lecture titled “Croatia on its way to the European Union – the process of negotiations“
By showing Croatia's path towards the full membership in the EU, she clarified the accession negotiations process and the EU negotiations framework. State Secretary Pejcinovic-Buric also spoke about progress, dynamics and the forthcoming moments after Croatia finishes its negotiations for full membership.
Along with council members, members of the city government, heads and representatives of cities and municipalities of the Buje area, business people, heads of institutions, a number of high school students, the State Secretary's lecture was also attended by the representatives of the civil sector.
During her visit to Umag, State Secretary Pejcinovic-Buric officially opened a Euro-info spot which is located at the Open University “Ante Babic.“ Euro-info spot, in the form of an Internet kiosk and an info-shell with informative materials and publications, is part of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration project called “Europe in Croatia“ and its objective is to offer citizens easier access to information on the EU, as well as a better insight of public into work and activities of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in regards to becoming a full member of the European Union.
