State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić welcomed on Saturday together with representatives of the Civil Protection Directorate in charge of earthquake response a humanitarian aid convoy from Aichtal, Germany. Mayor of Aichtal Sebastian Kurz joined the humanitarian action, launched by members of the Croatian community, and assisted in the organization. Responding to the call were numerous individuals, companies, entrepreneurs, fire brigades and civic associations, with support from local media and sites such as Večernji List, Fenix Magazine and the “Stuttgart Croats” Facebook group.

The convoy consisted of 22 vehicles, carrying firefighting gear and clothing, pumps, generators, heaters, power tools, electrical materials, field beds, food, toiletries and 22,000 FFP2 masks.

Lucić thanked the mayor for assistance, underlining that the shipment would be of great use to those in need and that this was yet another proof of the solidarity between Croatian and German cities.
