State Secretary Lucić elected chair of Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards

State Secretary Zdenko Lucić was elected today as the chair of the Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards.
 
An intergovernmental body of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the Steering Committee oversees and guides the development of international norms and standards, procedures and best practices for reducing transaction costs associated with export and import processes and increasing the efficiency, predictability and transparency of trade regulations and procedures.
 
With this appointment, Croatia assumes an active role in a UNECE body, creating the opportunity for intensifying cooperation on projects aimed at facilitating international business activities, notably for small and mid-sized operators.
