State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić participated in the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in trade format, held in Brussels on November 21, 2024. The ministers exchanged views on the future of European trade policy in light of current geopolitical challenges and increasing trade fragmentation, as well as on trade relations with the United States and their significance for the European Union and its Member States.
Discussions also addressed the need to continue reforming the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the upcoming selection of its Director-General, emphasizing the importance of this international organization for harmonizing trade rules and fostering economic progress in developing countries.
