State Secretary Lucić attends FAC (Trade)

State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Zdenko Lucić on Friday in Brussels attended a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (Trade).
 
Ministers discussed the reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and preparations for the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference. They agreed that the WTO reform was a priority for the EU, notably in terms of dispute settlement.
 
Ministers also held a discussion on EU-US trade relations, agreeing that the EU should continue its ambitious trade and investment agenda towards the US as well as maintain positive dialogue on issues burdening the relations.
 
The Council held a policy debate on trade support to Ukraine. Ministers commended the activities in place that facilitate Ukraine’s access to the EU market and exchanged views on the additional advancement of trade relations to help Ukrainian economy.
 
Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis reported on the status of other bilateral trade talks and agreements.
