State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hido Biščević received today, 31 March 2004, at the request of the European Commission's Delegation to Croatia, Ambassador Jacques Wunenburger, Head of the Delegation
During the talks, Ambassador Wunenburger pointed out that the European Commission intends to stick to the set deadlines regarding the passing of the Opinion about Croatia’s candidacy for EU membership. As regards the Croatian government’s recent decision on Croatia’s full participation in South East Europe Co-operation Process (SEECP), Wunenburger pointed out the positive aspects of that decision that are a clear proof of Croatia’s dedication to regional co-operation within the carrying out of the Thessaloniki Agenda.
State Secretary Biščević informed Ambassador Wunenburger about Croatia’s co-operation with its neighbour countries and the strengthening of bilateral relations with countries in the region. Biščević also announced the holding of third meeting of state secretaries at the MFAs of Croatia, Italy and Slovenia about Adriatic co-operation, to be held in Pula 7 April 2004 and hosted by the Republic of Croatia.
